A new class of local infrastructure

Connect hosts, accelerators and NVMe media as one PCIe fabric.

The Nomadic 2U extends GVS system engineering into PCIe Gen5 switching. It can serve as a straightforward in-box connectivity layer or as the foundation of a scalable, cost-effective PCIe fabric that moves data between CPUs, DPUs, I/O devices and storage with less latency, complexity and power overhead.

Standard SR-IOV and multifunction capabilities enable I/O sharing among multiple hosts on a single PCIe fabric topology. Broadcom tunneled-window connectivity also supports low-latency host-to-host communication for short packets.

Architecture

Maximum flexibility at PCIe 5.0 rates.

01

PCIe Gen5 fabric

Up to eight PCIe Gen5 x16 host and expansion interfaces per system, each supporting as much as 1024 Gb/s (128 GB/s) of raw bidirectional link bandwidth.

02

Dual switch controllers

Two controller canisters built around Broadcom PEX 89144 PCIe Gen5 switch technology provide a foundation for availability and flexible topology.

03

24 active NVMe drives

Twenty-four active hot-swap dual-port U.2 drives, plus one spare and one parity drive, support high-performance NVMe all-flash-array architectures.

04

Composable connectivity

Fan out CPU PCIe ports across large numbers of I/O devices, DPUs and subsystems, or create scalable in-rack PCIe fabrics for multiple hosts.

High availability

Designed to stay online and remain serviceable.

Dual controller canisters, dual-port drives, redundant Titanium power, independent cooling and hot-swap components create a fault-tolerant platform designed for straightforward maintenance and management.

01

Dual controllers

Redundant switch canisters support resilient storage and fabric designs.

02

Hot-swap media

Tool-less U.2 trays make drive service direct and controlled, with a spare drive available for resilient operation.

03

Redundant power

3200W 1+1 hot-swap 80 Plus Titanium power supplies with dual AC input.

04

Intelligent management

BMC monitoring with IPMI 2.0 compliance and front-panel status indicators.
